I would like to introduce you to a wonderfully simple project. It’s called A Portrait a Week and sponsored by Jodi Wilson at Che and Fidel. It’s an incredibly freeing project with a simple goal – taking a portrait a week of your children. You can join this community of moms who once a week share their portrait on Jodi’s website. You simply upload your picture and point it back to a facebook page or a blog. Joining this community of ladies participating in the project in addition to continuing my Project 52 on my blog allows me to balance the simplicity of committing to a single photo a week of Katie and Luke as well as the flexibility of putting together a collage of my favorites from the week. If I simply have one photo of each – that works fine.
What I particularly like about doing this is getting inspiration from what others have posted and feeling a part of a community rather than going at it alone. There are a lot of other communities out there that sponsor themed photo challenges. I’ve always been a bit intimidated in posted my work on these sites because I feel that I can never measure up to pros or semi-pros members. But here I don’t feel that way and I invite you to join me.
So here are my portraits for this week.
I’m also participating in the I Heart Faces Photo Challenge for this month. The theme is love and to me, both these kids exude love.
